NYT

After years of an untouchble reputation, some irresponsible reports are throwing The New York Times' credibility in the garbage can. First, a reporter from Washington wrote several articles about 9/11 with false information; now, a Brazilian correspondent Larry Rohter dragged the Brazilian president's name through the mud. In the second case, the problem is that a whole nation is paying for an irresponsible article. Reporters have the respnsibility of writing truthful articles, especially when reporting on the happenings of Third world countries. Economies in these countries can be severely effected by such speculation. One painful example of this is the fall of the real (brazilian currency) as a result of an article written by Rohter.
